At lunchtime on Tuesday, the emergency services received an alarm in Åre.
It concerned a man who had been involved in a skiing accident. Manne is said to have fallen down a hill in connection with skiing off-piste and died, writes the police on their website.
The man was in his 30s and his next of kin have been informed.
No one suspected a crime
Both police and mountain rescuers have worked on the incident and a police helicopter has documented the accident scene.
There are currently no criminal suspects in connection with the accident.
