The incident that the prosecutor paints is very brutal. The man is said to have used his hands and a belt to try to strangle the woman and he is also said to have pressed a pillow against her face.
During parts of the process, the woman lost consciousness.
Also charged with assault
Another charge concerns assault. The prosecutor describes an incident where the man pulled the woman’s head back and forced her to swallow salt and barbecue spices.
Armed with a knife, the man allegedly assaulted the woman with the handle of the knife and also pressed the knife blade against her face.
According to the indictment, the woman threw pieces of paper and also mobile phones out a window as an attempt to call for help.
At an early stage of the investigation, the man was also suspected of aggravated rape, but the prosecutor ultimately considered that this could not be proved.
The man denies the crimes he is accused of.
