A man who police say fired a pellet gun at Brant Crossing Skate Park while several children were using it has been charged.
Police were called to the skate park on Icomm Drive on Thursday at about 4 pm after receiving a report about an armed man. Police seized a pellet gun from a 28-year-old Brantford man who is charged with possession of weapon for dangerous purpose.
No injuries were reported.
Tracking device on wallet leads police to accused
A tracking device led police to a stolen wallet and a man who resisted arrest on Thursday.
Police received information about a wallet being stolen from a vehicle at about 9:50 am Attached to the wallet was a tracking device that enabled the owner to provide police a current location of his wallet.
Officers went to a location on Ontario Street. where they found the accused who then ran away. After a short chase, he was arrested.
Police said they found the stolen wallet in his possession, along with break-in instruments.
A 30-year-old Waterford man is charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen goods under $5,000, mischief, resist arrest and escape lawful custody.
Police charge man asleep behind wheel
A man who police say they found asleep in the driver’s seat of a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road has been charged with being impaired.
On Thursday at about 10 pm, officers saw the driver in the area of Blackburn Drive and Veterans Memorial Parkway.
After several attempts, police say officers were able to wake the man who was arrested and refused to provide breath samples.
A 32-year-old Brantford man is charged with operation while impaired, failure to comply with demand and driving while under suspension.
On Wednesday, a citizen called 911 to report a person driving erratically in the area of Park Road North and Dunsdon Street. A 23-year-old woman has been charged with being impaired by drugs.
