Man enters wrong home, faces assault charges

Police make warrant arrests

A man faces charges after reportedly entering the wrong home on James Street in Chatham.

The man was allegedly intoxicated and found by the homeowner, Chatham-Kent police said. A struggle allegedly took place and the man fled the home.

He was found in the area and charged with assault and being unlawfully in a dwelling. He was released with a short date.

Man reportedly passed out in vehicle

A male driver was reportedly found passed out in a vehicle at the intersection of Grand Avenue West and Keil Drive in Chatham.

The driver was checked by a citizen, police said. When he awoke, the man allegedly accelerated forward, reportedly striking a police cruiser and attempting to drive away.

The man was eventually arrested and placed under arrest. He was charged with operation while impaired, having a blood-alcohol concentration over the legal limit, flight from police, dangerous operation and resisting arrest. He was released with a short date.
