A man who climbed onto a car roof and then fell to the ground during the car meet Summer Meet in Västerås on Friday has died of his injuries, the police state on their website.

The 55-year-old was seriously injured in the case and initially received emergency care from police on the spot. He was taken to hospital but later pronounced dead by a doctor. The man is a resident of Eskilstuna.

The police do not suspect any crime but assess what happened as an accident.

The influx of cases has been high during this year’s car meeting, despite the fact that the state of affairs has generally been good, the police state.

“The first assessment is that during the entire Summer Meet there were fewer crimes, disturbances and arrests for drunkenness than the police expected,” writes the spokesperson Johan Thalberg on the police website but adds:

“However, several of the crimes that have been committed are serious and will be investigated further”

Apart from occasional reports of abuse and sexual harassment, a person is suspected of violating the Alcohol Act after selling or leaving alcohol to young people.
