Two drivers are said to have been involved in the accident and several people saw when the accident happened. Both people were taken to hospital and on Saturday evening the University Hospital in Linköping announced that a 65-year-old man had died from his injuries.
According to a bulletin from Region Östergötland on Sunday, the other driver is said to be a man in his 70s. The man is said to have life-threatening injuries and his condition is said to be critical.
The police have started a preliminary investigation with the crime classification of causing the death of another, but at the moment there is no person suspected of crime and the competition will continue on Sunday.
The 58-year race, as the competition is called, includes road racing, motocross, trail and speedway.
