The police were alerted to the incident by the man’s relatives at 4:30 p.m. after he did not return after going out for a swim.
– He has simply been out swimming and it hasn’t gone well. It is an accident, says Sylvia Oldin, officer on duty at the police in Stockholm.
Rescue divers participated in the search for the man and once he was found, he was taken to hospital by ambulance helicopter, but his life could not be saved.
Next of kin have been notified.
