Man convicted of murder in Boden is pardoned by the Minister of Justice

It was an evening at the end of October 2020 that the 19-year-old was shot outside a hamburger restaurant. The young man was transported to hospital, but later died from his gunshot wounds.

After a large police effort, the police arrested a suspect who was then sentenced against his denial to prison for 16 years for the murder.

Convicted murderer seriously ill

In December, however, Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (M) pardoned the convicted murderer, something like Today’s industry first reported on.

The decision is described as extremely unusual.

– In this case, it is about a very seriously ill person in the final stages of his life, and where the Correctional Service assesses that there is an extensive need for medical care that the authority cannot meet, says the Minister of Justice’s press secretary Caroline Opsahl to SVT.
