Man charged with possessing child porn resisting arrestWoman 21 sought

A St. Thomas man is charged with possessing and accessing child pornography following an investigation by London police.

London police said they were made aware in June of an ongoing investigation by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the National Child Exploitation Crime Center involving a St. Thomas man.

Members of the London police internet child exploitation unit and St. Thomas police officers searched a home on Princess Avenue in St. Thomas on Friday, Aug. 30, London police said Tuesday.

A male suspect resisted arrest, police said.

Evidence of suspected child pornography was found on electronic devices that were seized, police said.

A 34-year old St. Thomas man is charged with breaching an order from a sexual offense conviction, possessing child pornography, accessing child pornography and resisting arrest.

He is scheduled to appear Friday in a London court.

Woman, 21, sought after police found $190K in drugs

A 21-year-old Hamilton woman is being sought by Chatham-Kent police after a search of a vehicle turned up nearly $190,000 in illegal drugs.

A Chatham-Kent police officer stopped a vehicle being driven by a female driver on King Street East in Chatham on July 30, Chatham-Kent police said.

The driver provided a Quebec driver’s license that police said was fake.

The driver was arrested and police found an Ontario driver’s license with the woman’s correct identity. A large amount of currency and scales were found inside the vehicle, police said.

Raghdah Saad Taha Al-Janabi, 21, of Hamilton was charged with obstructing a peace officer, possessing a forged document with intent, and use of a forged document.

After she was released from custody, police applied for a warrant to search her vehicle. Cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl valued at $188,000 was found along with a knife and digital scales, police said.

Al-Janabi is wanted for possession of a prohibited weapon and three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
