A traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act offense resulted in impaired driving charges for a 20-year-old Brant County man.

Police say the vehicle was stopped on Main Street in St. George at about 10:30 pm on Jan. 18.

The driver is charged with operating a vehicle while impaired, driving a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor and, as a young driver, having a blood alcohol concentration above zero.

Police on Six Nations of the Grand River have charged a male driver with stunt driving.

Officers patrolling Fourth Line Road on Jan. 16 observed an eastbound pickup truck leaving the village of Ohsweken and speeding toward them.

The vehicle was clocked at more than double the posted 50 km-h speed limit.

The driver is charged with with stunt driving – speeding by more than 40 km-h in a zone with a speed limit of less than 80 km-h and speeding.

Accident leads to charge

A 41-year-old woman from Edmonton has been charged with failure or refusal to comply with a demand after police on Six Nations of the Grand River responded to a motor vehicle accident on Jan. 14.

Upon arrival at a Fifth Line Road address, officers saw that a white truck had left the road and struck a tree.

The female driver and male passenger were standing at the side of the road.

The driver refused to provide a breath sample and was subsequently charged.
