Man charged with criminal harassment: Chatham-Kent police

A man has been charged after a criminal harassment investigation that began Feb. 20, Chatham-Kent police say.

A man previously cautioned about unwanted and vexatious behavior toward another person was repeatedly seen at the person’s workplace, police said. A warrant was obtained for the man’s arrest when he couldn’t be located.

A man turned himself in to police and was arrested at 1:40 pm Tuesday, police said.

A Chatham-Kent man, 54, is charged with criminal harassment, police said. He was released with conditions and a March 25 short date.

Man arrested after well-being check conducted: police

A well-being check led to a man being arrested on an outstanding warrant, says Chatham-Kent police.

Officers went to check on the well-being of a man seen sleeping behind a business on Simcoe Lane in Chatham at 10 am Tuesday, police said.

After the man was located, police said it was learned he was on an outstanding warrant from a November 2023 investigation and he was arrested.

A 34-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with uttering threats and breach of probation, police said.

He was released with a March 25 short date.

Police said criminals look for easy opportunities so the ‘9 pm routine’ my help prevent crimes of opportunity.

Every night at 9 pm homeowners are encouraged to ensure the following checklist is complete:

– Remove valuables and garage door opener from vehicle

– Lock vehicles

– Close overhead garage door

– Lock door between garage and house

– Close and lock all external doors

– Ensure windows are closed and locked

– Turn on an exterior light

Start the 9 pm routine with your family, police said.
