Man charged with attempted murder after shooting in Wallaceburg

A 27-year-old man of no fixed address is facing an attempted murder charge after police responded to reports of a shooting in Wallaceburg on Nov. 28.

Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance in a parking lot at an apartment complex on Wallace Street shortly after 11 pm

Police alleged a 33-year-old Wallaceburg man suffered a serious – but not life-threatening – gunshot wound during an altercation with an acquaintance.

Police said the 33-yer-old man was rushed to a Chatham hospital but was later transferred to Windsor for further medical attention.

The accused, who was not named by police, was arrested in Windsor Monday night and charged with attempted murder.

He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.
