A 19-year-old man is charged on suspicion of having murdered a woman in her 20s in Gävle, writes Gefle Dagblad.
The murder took place in the Andersberg district during the day on February 28, when the man is suddenly suspected of having attacked the woman with a knife or “other sharp-edged object” on a pedestrian and bicycle path in the area, writes GD.
He is said to have stabbed her 17 times, reports SVT News.
The woman was taken to hospital, but her life could not be saved. The man was arrested a few hours after the attack in his home. He still had blood on his clothes.
The man has undergone a small mental examination and suffered from a serious mental disorder at the time of the crime.
The accused has previously admitted that he killed the woman.
