An officer was called to Partridge Crescent in Chatham just after 9 am Wednesday for a mischief investigation and arrived to find wooden boards with nails and a large railway tie spread out across the roadway, police said.

A 30-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with mischief and released with a Dec. 18 court date.
Chatham-Kent police nab theft suspects in Tilbury
Two men were arrested in connection with a theft at a Tilbury business early Friday morning.
Police were called to the Queen Street North business just after 3:30 am to investigate suspicious activity after the owner reported two men were removing items from the loading dock.
One man attempted to flee on foot when police arrived, but was arrested after a short pursuit, police said.
The second man was located nearby and arrested, police added.
Two Windsor men, ages 41 and 49, were both charged with theft, possession of stolen property and possession of break-and-enter tools, police said.
They were both held pending a bail hearing.
