Chatham Kent man faces child porn charges

A man found with a replica handgun is facing charges after being stopped in Wallaceburg on Friday for a theft investigation on Wallace Street.

Chatham-Kent police said the man was found to have a BB gun that was a replica of a real handgun.

The man, who was on conditions and probation, was arrested and charged with dangerous weapons, carrying a concealed weapon along with failing to comply with his probation and failing to comply with an undertaking, police said.

He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing.

Homeowner scares off intruder

Chatham-Kent police are seeking information regarding a break and enter on Middle Line in the Valetta area.

Police said a young man was seen entering a shed on the property just before 1 am Saturday, but fled after being scared off by the homeowner.

The suspect dropping go-kart tires outside the building, police said.
