A 22-year-old man faces multiple charges after Chatham-Kent police seized more than $250,000 in suspected drugs Tuesday.

Approximately $253,320 worth of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine were seized for analysis when police exercised two Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrants on Keil Drive South in Chatham, police said in a release Wednesday.

Approximately $22,000 in property obtained by crime, a loaded Glock handgun, digital scales, cellphones and a large amount of Canadian currency also were seized, police said.
A Chatham man was arrested and charged with the following:
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Careless storage of ammunition
- Careless storage of a firearm, and
- Three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking

The accused was transported to police headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.
Police are also seeking a 19-year-old Chatham woman on the same offenses.
Smoke alarm betrays hungry intruder: Chatham-Kent police
A woman faces charges after a smoke alarm alerted a Chatham resident to an intruder cooking in their kitchen, Chatham-Kent police say.
The intruder, who had gathered blankets, a cooler and other items, fled when the Queen Street homeowner called 911 about 9 am Tuesday, police said.
A suspect was arrested on Raleigh Street, police said.
A Chatham-Kent woman, 24, is charged with breaking and entering and theft, police said. After a bail hearing, she was remanded into custody pending an April 2 court appearance.

Auto hits house, man charged
A man faces an impaired charge after a vehicle crashed into a Chatham home early Wednesday, Chatham-Kent police say.
A suspect was arrested and taken to police headquarters for breath tests after a vehicle struck a house on Tissiman Avenue about 12:30 am and drove across the lawn, police said.
A Chatham man, 47, is charged with having a blood alcohol over the legal limit, police said. He was released with an April 8 short date.
Brass knuckles seized, man charged
A West Lorne man faces charges after officers seized brass knuckles Tuesday, Chatham-Kent police say.
Police were called to a clash on Emma Street in Chatham on Tuesday at 11:45 am, and arrested a man who is under a lifetime weapons ban, police said. During a search, police found brass knuckles, a prohibited weapon in Canada.

A West Lorne man, 27, is charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon and possession contrary to an order, police said. He was released with a May 6 short date.

OPP pulled over and arrested a man wanted on assault, threat and other charges in Chatham-Kent Tuesday, police say
The man, wanted on warrants obtained by Chatham-Kent police, was taken to local police headquarters, police said.
A Howard Township man, 22, faces five counts of uttering threats, three counts each of assault with a weapon and dangerous driving, and single counts of assault causing bodily harm, public mischief, mischief and failing to comply with an undertaking, police said.
At a bail hearing, he was remanded into custody pending an April 3 court appearance, police said.
