    Iran’s security service has carried out a special operation against targets in Sweden, according to prosecutor Mats Ljungqvist.

    Hackers sent over 15,000 text messages calling for revenge against Koran burners.

    Something that Iran now denies:

    “The accusations against Iran of sending text messages to Swedish citizens and inciting them to avenge the burning of the Koran are baseless,” the Iranian embassy in Sweden states to Tasnim News.

    Sweden’s Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) confirms to Aftonbladet that Iran’s ambassador has been summoned by the Foreign Ministry – due to the special operation.

    “That a state actor, in this case Iran, according to the Security Police’s assessment is behind an action that aims to destabilize Sweden or increase polarization in our country is of course very serious – and completely unacceptable,” Malmer Stenergar writes in an email to Aftonbladet and continues:

    “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has today summoned Iran’s chargé d’affaires to emphasize how seriously we view what happened”.

  • Children rescued from burning apartment

    Two children have been rescued by ladder truck from a burning apartment in Jordbro south of Stockholm.

    The fire service was alerted to the fire at around 5 p.m.

    The children have been examined by an ambulance.

    According to the police, it is unclear how the fire started.

  • Problems in commuter train traffic north of Stockholm

    The commuter trains to the north do not stop at Häggvik, Norrviken and Rotebro stations.

    – It is because of a demolished contact line, says Andreas Strömberg at SL’s press service.

    Travelers getting off at any of the three stations can change to southbound trains in Upplands Väsby, when they stop as usual

    About a month ago, SJ announced that the company is scrapping the popular Uppsala commuter train.

    Now Region Uppsala states that it has found a future solution for all the thousands of travelers who travel on the route every day.

    – We are now at the finish line and we can announce that Mälardalstrafik will take over almost all departures that SJ has chosen to leave, says regional board chair Helena Proos (S) at a press conference.

    Mälardalstrafik will operate half-hourly services and even more frequent departures during rush hour on weekdays.

    – Travelers’ needs have been completely at the center, this is one of the strongest commuting routes in the country, says chairman of the traffic and community development board Jenny Lundström (MP).

    The amusement park Gröna Lund in Stockholm has reported an accident to the Work Environment Agency after an employee got a large amount of frozen yogurt on him.

    The accident occurred in mid-September, reports the news agency Siren.

    The incident occurred when the employee was cleaning the yogurt machine. The machine had not emptied and emptied suddenly and forcefully over the person who got liquid yogurt all over them.

    The employee sought medical care on site at the amusement park and was then able to continue his work shift.

    Later that day, the person sought care again after a seizure. According to the report, it is unclear whether the accident caused the illness.

  • Severe assault at the subway station in Stockholm

    A preliminary investigation into serious assault and a serious violation of the Knife Act has been launched.

    – It does not appear that a knife was used during the assault, but it is still a matter that we are investigating.

    Update: Initially, the police stated that three people were arrested, then the police changed the information to that two people were arrested.

  • Man arrested for aggravated rape and kidnapping

    On Tuesday, a man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of aggravated rape and kidnapping in Bromma in western Stockholm.

    The crimes must have been committed between Sunday and Monday, confirms prosecutor Anders Hirsch.

    – I lead the preliminary investigation, but cannot tell you anything about the case, he says.

    The man is also suspected of assault in a court case.

    Several people have been arrested in northern Switzerland after a person died in a life support machine on Monday, local media reports.

    Those arrested are suspected of aiding and abetting suicide – as the country’s public prosecutor’s office considers the machine used to be illegal.

    The person who died in the machine was an American woman in her 60s.

    The machine is a Sarco capsule owned by the organization Last Resort.

    Philip Nitschke, who is behind the machine, tells several media that the machine was used for the first time on Monday.

    The man who was involved in a workplace accident at Forsmark on Friday has now died.

    The accident must have happened in connection with welding work, reports P4 Uppland.

    Affected personnel gathered on Monday for crisis support in the affected work group.

    An investigation into the accident is now underway.
