Man arrested with $10,000 in drugs, stolen motorcycle recovered

A man faces drug and other charges after officers located a stolen motorcycle in Wallaceburg Sunday.

The motorcycle was seen on Margaret Avenue just before 10 am and as officers were confirming information about the stolen bike, police told a man who was riding the bike returned.

The man attempted to flee after seeing the officers, but was quickly taken into custody, Chatham-Kent police said.

While being searched during the arrest, police said the man was found to have fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $10,000.

A 43-year-old Walpole Island man was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property and resisting arrest, police said.

He was transported to police headquarters and held for a bail hearing.

Two teens charged after clash involving pellet gun

Two Chatham teens were charged following an assault investigation Saturday night in downtown Chatham.

A youth was physically assaulted by other youths as well as with a pellet gun, Chatham-Kent police said.

Two boys, 14 and 16, were charged with aggravated assault and released on Monday with a June 24 court date.

Roommates clash, baseball bat involved, woman charged

A woman was charged following a clash with a roommate that involved a baseball bat.

Officers were called to Sandys Street in Chatham just before 10:15 am Sunday, where two roommates argued on May 17, police said.

One of the roommates was punched and hit with a baseball bat, police said.

A 33-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with assault, assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

Pair arrested following disturbance call at Chatham residence

A woman and man were arrested after police were called to a disturbance on Sheldon Avenue in Chatham Sunday night.

A man and woman were arguing when the man was assaulted, Chatham-Kent police said.

A 35-year-old Chatham woman was charged with assault and a 32-year-old Chatham man was charged with mischief, police said. They were released with a June 24 short date.
