The man refused to stop for a police check in Oxie in Malmö and instead drove away from the patrol that followed on the E65 in the direction of Ystad together with a police helicopter.
During the chase, the man tried to hijack several police cars, the police state on their website.
The man drove off the road at 11.45 pm and was arrested and is currently suspected of gross negligence in traffic and attempted serious assault.
