Man arrested in Greece – wanted by Swedish authorities

The man was arrested on the outskirts of the capital Athens on Friday morning. He was arrested on suspicion of violating the Weapons Act when the police found a total of six weapons in his home.

Ammunition, binoculars, silencers and communication equipment were found. The Greek police write that the Swedish authorities revoked his permit earlier, when he was suspected of crime.

Police: Threatened several Swedish politicians

The man must have been in Greece for at least a year without declaring his weapons. Nor could he prove that he was a hunter or a sports shooter.

The Greek police state that the man is wanted by Swedish authorities after he published videos on social media where he threatened several Swedish politicians. This should also have led to his firearms license being revoked.

A picture of the seized weapons shows two pistols, two shotguns and two rifles. An ammunition box, bags and boxes of shotgun ammunition have also been seized.
