A man has been arrested abroad on suspicion of the murder of a taxi driver in Bergsjön in Gothenburg earlier this fall, GP reports.
The victim was found dead outside his taxi on October 16. He had just parked after finishing his shift when he was shot. He was not previously known to the police and it has therefore been very unclear why he was killed.
A few weeks ago, however, there was a breakthrough in the investigation, the newspaper writes. At the beginning of November, a 35-year-old man was arrested in his absence, suspected of the murder.
During Friday, the Gothenburg district court decided that the man should be detained in his absence and he was thus internationally wanted. A few hours later, he was arrested in a non-Nordic country, police told GP.
The motive for the shooting is still unclear. The man has not yet been able to be interviewed by the Swedish police.
