Early Tuesday, Chatham-Kent police responded to a disturbance on Taylor Avenue in Chatham.
Upon arrival, police located multiple people outside of the address.
Police learned a woman and a man were engaged in a verbal argument. The man allegedly threw the woman to the floor and prevented her from leaving a room.
After a third person intervened, the woman left the room, with the man following and allegedly assaulting her.
The 22-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault and forcible confinement.
The 19-year-old Wallaceburg woman was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order.
They were both taken to police headquarters and held for bail.
Alleged theft from boat
Police attended the boardwalk on King Street West in Chatham on Monday afternoon for a theft complaint.
The owner of a boat docked at the boardwalk returned to find a woman allegedly taking property from the boat, police said. The woman stayed on the scene until police arrived.
The 39-year-old Chatham-Kent woman was arrested and charged with theft and possessing stolen property. She was released with a short date.
Break and enter charge
On Monday night, police attended Margaret Avenue in Wallaceburg for a break and enter complaint.
A man was allegedly seen entering a detached garage on the property. Police arrived and called the man out of the building. He presented himself and was arrested, police said.
The 32-year-old Wallaceburg man was charged with break and enter. He was taken to headquarters and later released with conditions and a short date.
