Norwegian police were alerted to the incident at 10:30 p.m. The man allegedly attacked several people outside a nightclub, including security guards. The police suspect that the attack was preceded by an earlier fight at the entrance to the nightclub in question.
Four people were injured, one of them seriously. The perpetrator was also injured.
The attack happened on the same day that the pride parade passed through Oslo. Last year’s parade was canceled after a suspected terrorist attack against a popular gay club in Oslo, when two people lost their lives. The police have investigated possible connections.
– And we are confident that it had nothing to do with Pride, said operations leader Magnus Strande to NTB last Saturday evening.
