A 40-year-old man was taken into custody on Saturday after Chatham-Kent police responded to a break and enter complaint in Chatham.
Police said the man allegedly broke a rear door to enter a vacant house to sleep while the owner was working on the second floor.
Police arrived and arrested the man who was found to have two outstanding warrants for failure to attend court.
The man was charged with unlawfully being in a dwelling and obstructing a peace officer. He was taken into custody pending a bail hearing, police said.

A 35-year-old woman was taken into custody on Saturday after Chatham-Kent police responded to a commercial location for a report of suspicious activity.
Police said the woman was located and found to have outstanding warrants for failing to comply and fail to attend court.
She was arrested and taken into custody pending a bail hearing, police said.
