A 20-year-old Brantford man is facing a number of charges after police responded to a report of a sexual assault and robbery in the city.
Austin Hearn is charged with sexual assault with a weapon, robbery, possession of stolen goods under $5,000 and forcible confinement.
Police said they were called at about 1 am on Nov. 17 after a woman was threatened with a weapon, prevented from leaving the location and sexually assaulted. She called police when the man left after demanding and receiving an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency.
Police said a suspect was arrested nearby without incident.
A search yielded a hammer.
