On Tuesday, June 11 and Sunday, June 16, RTV Utrecht will also broadcast the documentary ‘150 years of Maliebaanstation’. The documentary shows, among other things, that the construction led to a major uprising in the city of Utrecht. The initial plan was to build the station in the middle of the beautiful city park along the canal.
Victor Lansink, author of the book ‘De Oosterspoorweg’, talks about the rise and fall of passenger traffic at the station and why it was later mainly used for freight transport.
