In Mali, Cheick Mohamed Chérif Koné was struck off Tuesday, August 29 from the order of magistrates. The decision, confirmed to RFI by his lawyer, was taken by the Superior Council of the Judiciary, as part of a disciplinary procedure initiated by the Minister of Justice of the transitional government. In question, there are the political positions of the magistrate opposed to the transitional authorities. The defense is indignant at a trial that it describes as “political”.
