Maldives will ban Israelis from entering the country

Call from Biden to Netanyahu for an agreement for Gaza

While Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip have continued for 240 days, the Maldives government has decided to ban Israelis from entering the country.

In the statement made by the President’s Office, it was stated that the Council of Ministers decided to change the laws to prevent those with Israeli passports from entering the country and to establish a subcommittee to oversee the process.

THERE ARE NO DIPLOMATIC TIES

While approximately 11 thousand Israelis visited the Maldives last year, this number constituted 0.6 percent of the total number of tourists entering the country. Israel does not have diplomatic ties with the Maldives, whose majority population is Muslim.
