The era of nostalgic series revivals is far from over. The latest piece of evidence: Malcolm in the Middle. The popular comedy series from the 2000s receives a Revival. However, not on the then US channel FOX, but on the streaming service Disney+.
Malcolm in the Middle ran for seven seasons starting in 2000 and had over 150 episodes. In Germany, ProSieben was the broadcasting home.
Malcolm in the Middle is coming back – and these stars from before are there
Malcolm in the Middle was about the highly gifted student Malcolm, who has to come to terms with his chaos family, who hardly appreciate his genius. According to TVLine, titular star Frankie Muniz is now joining the revival, bringing with him co-stars Jane Kaczmarek as mother Lois and Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston as father Hal. It is not known at this point whether there will be a reunion with the series brothers.
But anyone expecting a lavish reunion with Malcolm in adulthood may be disappointed. The Malcolm in the Middle revival will be only four episodes include. After all, series creator Linwood Boomer is once again part of the creative team.
Disney’s official statement about the revival says:
Malcolm in the Middle is a groundbreaking sitcom that captures the essence of family life with humor, heart and sensitivity. Their hilarious and heartfelt portrayal of an endearingly chaotic family resonated with audiences of all ages, and we’re thrilled to welcome back the original cast to bring this magic to life once again. With Linwood Boomer and the creative team at the helm, these new episodes will deliver all the laughs, pranks and mayhem fans love – along with a few surprises to remind us why this show is so timeless.
