What do you need a philosopher’s stone for? A philosopher’s stone is necessary for alchemy in World of Warcraft. You can create most potions, flasks and vials without the stone, but it is necessary for transmutations and thaumaturgy.
The problem: Creating the “current” Philosopher’s Stone is quite expensive and even uses valuable materials that you cannot obtain so quickly.
But there is a cost-effective alternative: a philosopher’s stone from an old addon.
How do you get a philosopher’s stone? Although there are many different versions of the Philosopher’s Stone, the cheapest option by far is the Mists of Pandaria expansion. Simply travel to Pandaria, seek out an alchemy teacher and learn the alchemy profession of this continent. You can do this from the Klaxxi in the Dread Wastes at coordinates 53/31. Make sure you also learn the Zen Alchemist Stone recipe.
The recipe only costs you 3 golden lotuses. You can buy these at a very reasonable price in the auction house.
Now create the “Meditative Alchemist Stone” – and keep it in your inventory. You can use it for all transmutations in the future, including the new ones from “The War Within”!
