In Robinson, Marcus Edensky, who normally lives on Easter Island, has found a root that he believes is edible, which the group therefore prepares for dinner. But when Dennis Johansson ingests it, they discover that the root is poisonous. He immediately feels that something is not right. When they look in the information book and find information about the root, which is called taros, it says the following: “Make sure to distinguish between edible and non-edible species of taros because some are poisonous”. – You’ve heard that there have been poisonous roots that can be fatal, so I was scared shitless when I realized he wasn’t joking. You could see how his tongue was just hanging out, I thought that now something really serious is going to happen, notes Caroline Persson. Marcus’ bad conscience after the incident Help is called in immediately and Dennis is treated by a doctor. His condition more or less panics the entire group, not least Marcus who feels that it is his fault that Dennis has now ingested the poisonous species – as he was the one who claimed it was edible. Marcus’s reaction is to run far into the forest where he lets out a roar. – I was the one who saw the root, a plant that we planted at home and ate a lot of. But apparently this is a different species. We cooked it and then he tasted a piece, and his whole mouth went numb, he couldn’t close his mouth. His tongue was just hanging out and he was just drooling, couldn’t talk, says Marcus. – Everyone understands that it wasn’t on purpose, Caroline says when she tries to calm Marcus down. In the player above, you see when Dennis ingests the poisonous species.
