The Truman Show turns 25 this year. Considered by many to be an absolute sci-fi masterpiece, this groundbreaking film follows a young man (Jim Carrey) who grows up as the clueless center of a gargantuan reality show. Author Andrew Niccol now hinted at a sequel.
There are said to be multiple Trumans in the sequel to sci-fi masterpiece The Truman Show
Niccol explained to ScreenRant:
There was already [in Sachen Sequel] already talks about a musical or a series. I imagine there is a network with multiple channels that all have a main character who was born in the show.
For example, there could be young people from different parts of New York who are part of different channels and shows and should never meet. “But by the end of the first season, they are attracted to each other“, so Nicol. “After all, this is the first time they’ve met someone who doesn’t act. Then in Season 2, the network tries desperately to prevent their romance.“
When is the Truman Show series coming?
Just like The Truman Show itself, Niccol’s idea sounds like a perfidious mixture of a lot of humor and the horror vision of a future exploited by the media. Whether the screenwriter’s idea will ever take shape is not clear. If sponsors for the exciting approach can be found quickly, he could within the next two years be implemented.
