According to RWS, the cables on that side of the bridge are approaching the end of their lifespan. Those along the direction of travel to The Hague can still be used for a while. The job will last until early 2024. The bridge will largely remain in use during the work, but will have to be closed to traffic from time to time. The lanes in the direction of Arnhem will also be narrowed throughout the work and a maximum speed of 70 kilometers per hour will apply. The Nieuwegein ramp (16) in the direction of Arnhem will be closed for the entire period.
