    At 09.30 it was stated that problems should be solved:

    Leading fuel chains raise the prices of petrol, diesel and biodiesel.

    The target price of 95-octane petrol at manned stations is increased by 20 öre to 17.54 kroner per litre, while the diesel price is increased by 20 öre to 17.39 kroner per litre.

    The price of biodiesel is increased by 25 öre to SEK 20.04 per litre.

    Last year, a man in his 30s was sentenced to five and a half years in prison for, among other things, rape, where he used vapes as bait.

  • Schibsted sells Price Hunt

    The Norwegian group Schibsted is selling several of its businesses, including the price comparison sites Prisjakt and Lendo. CEO Christian Printzell Halvorsen explains the decision by saying that the group now wants to “simplify the company portfolio and sell off parts that do not belong to the core business”.

    “We expect to start the sales process within the next nine months,” he says in a press release.

    Earlier this summer, the group announced that it will also get rid of 250 employees. The downsizing is part of a savings and efficiency program.

    The Mexican military has killed 19 people suspected of being involved in the Sinaloa cartel in Mexico, the country’s defense ministry said.

    The clash reportedly took place on Monday, when more than 30 people attacked military personnel near the state capital of Culiacán.

    Violence in the state of Sinaloa has increased since the arrest of Sinaloa cartel founder Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada last summer. The arrest has been followed by bloody conflicts between his relatives and the sons of cartel co-founder Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán.

    According to the Ministry of Defense, those killed on Monday are believed to have belonged to Zambada’s faction.

  • The moderates have lost every third young man

    The 2022 election results showed a clear majority for the right among young men, but two years into the term, support in the group has dropped, shows TV4 and Novus’ latest measurement.

    The figures show that the party has lost about one in three young men since the election, or 8.9 percentage points. At the same time, the Social Democrats have increased by 8 percentage points with the same group.

    – So there is a certain shift to the left in the group of young male voters where they now tend to go a little more to the left than at the election, says Hjalmar Strid, opinion advisor at Novus to the channel.

    A person is seriously injured after being hit by a train in Kinna. This is what the police write on their website.

    The circumstances surrounding the incident are unclear, but the police are on the scene along with an ambulance and emergency services.

    – The person is awake and talking and we are working on the scene to get a picture of what has happened, says police spokesperson August Brandt.

    A train stop has been issued, which means that no trains currently pass through Kinna.

    – We have no forecast for how long the traffic will be affected, he says.

  • Sweden develops medium-range robots

    Sweden has joined a project to develop European medium-range robots together with France, Great Britain, Germany, Poland and Italy, Ekot reports.

    The cooperation was signed during a NATO meeting in Brussels last week.

    – Russia uses long-range systems every week and it is also necessary for Europe to acquire a better ability to deter Russia from any temptation to aggression, says Minister of Defense Pål Jonson (M).

    The project goes by the name ELSA – European Long Range Strike Approach. The purpose is to develop robots with a range of 100-200 miles that will act as a deterrent. The systems can be ground, air or sea based.

    According to the Minister of Defence, it is too early to say when Sweden could have access to the systems and what it will cost.

    Husqvarna, which among other things manufactures garden products such as lawnmowers, is to implement another savings package. A total of 400 services within the group are affected, which means cost savings of SEK 500 million.

    “With a more efficient organization and a strong product portfolio for the coming season, these measures will contribute to future-proofing the group’s operations,” says CEO Pavel Hajman in a press release.

    Norway currently has an age limit for social media of 13 years. Now Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre and Minister for Children and Families Kjersti Toppe want to raise it to 15 years.

    A passenger car caught fire and started burning on Wednesday morning shortly after 06:30.

    – The right lane is closed in the northbound direction. The car remains and has a major impact on traffic, says Oscar Davila, line operator at the rescue service.

    The accident occurred on the E18 at the height of Brunna, north of Stockholm. The emergency services are on the scene and the police are on their way.

    There are no reports of personal injuries.

    – I think it is important to use one’s voice. So I encourage everyone to get out and vote, said Eminem, who is a longtime critic of Donald Trump.

    The rapper then welcomed former President Barack Obama to the tune of “Lose Yourself,” and Obama rapped a few lines.

    The Democrats hope that the performance will increase enthusiasm among voters, writes TT.

  • Bill Gates has donated half a billion to Harris

    Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates reveals to the New York Times that he has donated around half a billion kroner to presidential candidate Kamala Harris’ campaign.

    Gates has not openly endorsed Harris, and in the past he has been completely reticent to take a political stand. Now he tells the NYT.

    – This election is different. I support candidates who demonstrate a clear commitment to improving healthcare, reducing poverty and fighting climate change in the US and the world.

    The presidential election in the United States takes place on Tuesday, November 5.

  • Bus fired at in Södertälje

    A bus is suspected of having been fired upon in central Södertälje late on Tuesday evening, write The county newspaper.

    It was a traveler who alerted the bus driver to the banging of a window at 11:30 p.m.

    – It was thought that you had been exposed to stone throwing or the like, but it turned out when we got closer that there appeared to be bullet holes in a window from a fine-caliber weapon, says Mikael Pettersson of the police to the newspaper.

    A preliminary investigation into serious weapons offenses and causing danger to others has been initiated. No one is arrested.
