The shelter is located on the Woudenbergseweg, a busy highway that also produces noises. But the animals get used to that, says Laurey. “The traffic noise is even, the animals can get used to that. But the noise coming from the football fields is incidental. There is also light that goes on and off, there is a whistle and football sounds come from the field. That cannot be solved with a wall, because the light poles are very high and you cannot solve the noise pollution with a wall. This creates a lot of stimuli for our dogs and cats, which we should be able to offer peace of mind.”
