Maja Dahlqvist leaves the World Cup in Trondheim with a gold in the team sprint and a fourth place in sprint.
But she does not leave Trondheim.
Maja moved to the Norwegian city last spring and now tells the Sports Bible that she can remain.
That she would make it difficult to beat the reigning world champion Jonna Sundling30, in the World Cup sprint, most people understood. Which luck then Maja Dahlqvist30, got to compete with Jonna in the team sprint.
World Cup gold for Maja and Jonna in team sprint
Together, Maja and Jonna managed to win Sweden’s fourth straight World Cup gold in the distance, on the women’s side. The two have also done so once before during the World Cup in Oberstdorf 2021 (and taken silver in the Beijing Olympics 2022).
– It was tough, but we went as we wanted and followed our plan. It was great to see Maja here go over the finish line and chill. I’m so happy to see her there, Jonna said in Viaplay’s broadcast on Wednesday.

Maja Dahlqvist also paid tribute to her partner. She also took the opportunity to mock the Norwegians a bit, because she now lives in the World Cup city Trondheim.
– It’s wonderful to take a victory at home. It feels great to have Jonna on my team, she really did it for me today.
Dahlqvist’s message about the accommodation
Yes, already last spring, Maja Dahlqvist and her American, skiing boyfriend Kevin Bolger31, that they would move to Trondheim. She previously lived in Falun. One of the reasons behind the move was that they would feel on the World Cup lanes well in advance. With the facts in hand, you can really say that it was the right decision for her.
– It has been very good, I enjoy it very well and it almost gets better and better. Just before the World Cup, I have the World Cup track to train on a daily basis if I want to. Then maybe it suits me this year and has given me a lot of motivation, while someone else feels that it wants to distance themselves from the resort to it really is time. It is different how you feel. But for me it has been very good, Dahlqvist told the Sports Bible before the championship.

The question is whether the couple will remain in Norway even after the World Cup is settled and the season is over in a couple of weeks. According to Maja, it is definitely not certain that there will be a move to Sweden directly, on the contrary.
– I’m excited to be there for another year. The World Cup was not the only reason we moved. It was also an environmental change that I was looking for. It is a very nice environment in Trondheim, so it is, she says.
