Frida Karlsson has been around Europe at high altitude during the summer.
Without best friend Maja Dahlqvist.
Now it is revealed why.
– We miss her, says Karlsson.
They have become known as MDFK. Every championship and in the World Cup, Frida Karlsson and Maja Dahlqvist live together, and last season the duo chose to be outside the national team. Now they, and also Linn Svahn, are back, however – and during the summer there have been loads of pictures of Frida Karlsson from various mountain peaks in Europe.
Frida nodded
Linn Svahn has usually also been in the pictures. But Maja Dahlqvist has been missing. Instead, Dahlqvist has been seen training with, among others, Johannes Hösflot Kläbo. But above all also with boyfriend Kevin Bolger, who is also a skier. Dahlqvist has been elsewhere than his national team mates for a long time now, and there is a clear explanation for that.
Maja Dahlqvist had as one of the requirements to come back to the national team that she should be allowed to go to her own camps, and then to get as much time with her boyfriend Kevin as possible.
– I was quite clear about that last spring. Then it’s sad that it collides because I want to be in camp with the team too, it’s been super good this year, says Dahlqvist to Aftonbladet, and continues:
– But this turned out to be a good solution.

“We miss her”
However, Maja Dahlqvist is soon reunited with her national team mates, and with Frida Karlsson. In October, it is time for a new camp, and then the MDFK will be reunited. But Frida Karlsson reveals that they were heard a lot during the summer as well.
– We miss her. She has been on FaceTime quite a bit and we are looking forward to going to altitude together soon, says Karlsson.
Overall, Maja Dahlqvist is looking forward to a special season – namely completely without major championships, which, among other things, will increase participation at the Tour de Ski considerably.
– Normally speaking, it feels like we in Sweden prioritize the championships very highly, then you have to prioritize away so much on the road. I think it feels great this year. You just have to compete a lot and maintain a high level right through.
