Dahlqvist reached the final in the opening sprint, but broke the pole there and finished last. On the second stage, the 30-year-old finished 45th in the mass start, which covered 15 kilometers in classic style.
“Maja Dahlqvist has woken up with cold symptoms and will not come to the start of today’s 20 km. She thus cancels the Tour de Ski and travels home,” writes the national ski team according to Aftonbladet.
In the past, Johanna Hagström has also broken the “tour”. Hagström only ran the sprint race, but then dropped out due to cold symptoms.
In today’s third stage – 20 kilometer freestyle with individual start – only five Swedes will start.
