Chicken nuggets from the Maître Coq brand sold at Carrefour, Casino, Auchan, Système U, Leclerc, Intermarché… throughout France have been recalled due to the detection of the Listeria bacteria in certain products. What warning symptoms? What if you have?

Of the chicken nuggets of the brand Master Rooster sold at Carrefour, Casino, Auchan, Système U, Leclerc, Intermarché… throughout France, have been subject toa product recallindicates the government website Rappel Conso on Thursday, July 28, 2022, due todetection of Listeria (monocytogenes), a bacterium responsible for listeriosis, an infection that can lead to intestinal and gastric symptoms (diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, headache, body aches, etc.). Listeriosis is an infrequent disease that can be serious and whose incubation period can be up to 8 weeks. Product concerned, symptoms to look out for and procedure to follow if you have one.

What product is affected by the recall?

These are chicken nuggets MASTER COCK-The Chicken (1 kg tray), marketed since July 22, 2022 (Batch 2P22201 under barcode 3230890027529) with a fixed expiry date to August 12, 2022. These products are sold throughout France in the following stores: Carrefour, Casino, Auchan, Provera, System U, Leclerc, Intermarché.

What are the symptoms to watch out for?

People who have consumed the “products” mentioned above and who present:

  • Of the fever (isolated or associated with other symptoms
  • Of the headache,
  • Of the aches

are invited to consult their doctor by notifying him of this consumption. “Severe forms with neurological complications and maternal or fetal damage in pregnant women can also sometimes occur. The pregnant women as well as immunocompromised people and the the elderly should be particularly attentive to these symptoms“.
