(Finance) – MAIRE announces that Tecnimontpart of the Integrated E&C Solutions business unit, today signed a Letter of Award with ADNOC for the onshore treatment plant of the Hail and Ghasha project. The signing took place on the occasion of ADIPEC, the world’s largest energy summit, taking place in Abu Dhabi.
The Hail and Ghasha project has theobjective of operating with zero emissionsthanks also to the plant’s CO2 capture and recovery units, which will allow its capture and storage.
The total value of the EPC contract is approximately $8.7 billion and the completion of the project is expected during 2028. The scope of work includes two gas processing units, three sulfur recovery sections, associated utilities and offsites, as well as export pipelines. Tecnimont will also exploit the skills of MAIRE’s Sustainable Technology Solutions division to develop innovative digital solutions aimed at reducing emissions and optimizing energy consumption, allowing significant plant efficiency in terms of opex and capex.
The engineering and procurement activities will be carried out by multiple dedicated working groups in Europe, India and the United Arab Emirates, under the central coordination of MAIRE’s Milan office. In particular, MAIRE’s procurement in the United Arab Emirates will guarantee maximum involvement of local suppliers, with the aim of creating significant value for the local economy.
MAIRE has been active in the United Arab Emirates since the late 1990s, having executed several strategic projects in the country with a total value of approximately $17 billion, starting with the first polyolefin plant completed in 2001 (Borouge 1). Furthermore, the Group can count on a track record and international experience in the construction of large gas treatment plants and sulfur recovery projects.
