(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Maire Tecnimonta group listed on Euronext Milan and active in the transformation of natural resources, ha acquired an 83.5% stake in Conser, a proprietary technology and process engineering company based in Rome. The transaction allows Maire Tecnimont to further strengthen its leadership in the polymers sector by adding technologies for biodegradable plastic intermediates and value-added specialty chemicals to its technological portfolio.
The closing is expected by April 15, 2023. The subsidiary NextChem Holding holds theoption to acquire the remaining 16.5% stake within the next three years.
Conser, which in 2022 developed revenues expected totals of around 25 million euros, can count on a technology patent portfolio diversified dedicated to energy transition and processes for fine chemicals with high added value.
The portfolio includes flexible and cost-effective technologies for maleic anhydride, butanediol and dimethyl succinate, which are fundamental elements for the production of biodegradable plastics. The portfolio also includes technologies for liquid organic hydrogen carriers, fine chemicals for the production of lithium batteries and bio-based derivatives.
