(Finance) – It was held in Doha, Qatarthe signing ceremony for the $6 billion integrated polymer complex to be built in the industrial city of Ras Laffan.
It makes it known Maire Tecnimont emphasizing that the EPC Lump Sum contract already announced last December 21, is part of this complex and was assigned to Tecnimont by the joint venture made up of QatarEnergy and Chevron Phillips Chemical. QatarEnergy (formerly Qatar Petroleum) is the national oil company of Qatar and one of the largest gas companies in the world. Chevron Phillips Chemical is a leading manufacturer of high density polyethylene.
The contract awarded to Tecnimont refers to theimplementation of a polyethylene plant which includes two units with a capacity of 1,000,000 and 680,000 tons per year respectively, in addition to the related utilities. The scope of work includes all engineering services, supply of equipment and materials, assembly and construction activities up to the mechanical completion, expected in 2026.
