A win at the Crystal Palace ensured Everton survived in the Football Premier League. Supporters caused chaos in Goodison Park as they headed to the field to celebrate.
On Thursday, Everton ran behind two goals to a 3-2 win over Crystal Palace and ensured a 68-year journey in the England Premier League.
The guests led the match with two goals even after the opening period, however Michael Keane started Everton Kirin in the 54th minute. Richarlison leveled the game twenty minutes later and responded to the winning goal Dominic Calvert-Lewin five minutes before the end of the actual playing time.
Maintaining the league place confused Everton fans. Already after Calvert-Lewin’s lead, some of the supporters rushed to the field, but they were brought back into the stands and the game was allowed to continue.
After the final whistle, the joy burst, and hundreds of supporters rushed to the field, among other things, to hug their favorite players.
Despite the festive vibe, not everyone was well-intentioned. Sky Sports Video (Switch to another service) shows how one supporter shouted and photographed the Crystal Palace head coach Patrick Vieiraa, who slipped away and ended up shaking and kicking the supporter. Vieira was then besieged by several supporters.
When the French pilots were told about the incident in a post-match media conference, he declined to comment.
– I have nothing to say, Vieira said.
Everton head coach Frank Lampard said he felt sympathy for Vieira.
– After the match, I couldn’t get to him anymore, but I would have said come with us, even though he probably didn’t want to, Lampard commented.
Lampard said he was in trouble.
– If done (entering the field) the right way, let them be on the field and enjoy the moment. As long as they behave, no problem, Lampard announced.
There is enough input in the final round
Burnley stretched to a 1-1 draw as a guest at Aston Villa and rose to the right of the relegation line in Leeds. Both teams are now at 35 points when the Premier League is out of play on Sunday’s round.
In the final round, Burnley will host Newcastle United and Leeds as a guest of Brentford.
Teemu Pukin Norwich will certainly be relegated to the Championship, as will Watford, who is the last to stay.
There is enough input in the final round of the Premier League, as the championship is also unresolved. Manchester City lead the series by 90 points, but Liverpool are just one point away. Liverpool will face Wolverhampton at home when City hosts Aston Villa.
