The Finnish Immigration Service suspended the decision-making process on Syrian asylum applications.
“The leaders promise that Syria is now safe”
Working as a digital advisor and customer service in Finland-Syria Friendship Society Maher Al-Masihi came to Finland as an asylum seeker eight years ago.
Now he has Finnish citizenship.
The Syrian revolution was Al-Masih’s dream day. He says that “all Syrians” are now happy.
– Everyone hopes for a democratic state. People are tired of wars and dictatorship. It lasted about 50 years in Syria, he says.
Al-Masihi follows news from the Syrian media.
– All the leaders promise that Syria is now a safe country. If you have a different religion or ethnic background, don’t be afraid. This is how it is told, says Al-Masihi.
