Even when Per Bolund was elected spokesperson in 2019, Magnus P Wåhlin challenged him. Per Bolund won with the numbers 171-87. Wåhlin thus received a third of the votes and this time he himself believes that the chances are greater.
– I see that the possibilities are greater now. For one thing, I have more to offer the party with me to the table. I have sat on the party board for four years and developed two major policy development projects. I have more to deliver so I think the chances are better this time.
Märta Stenevi is running for re-election and is the only candidate for female spokesperson, and Magnus P Wåhlin thinks they could work well together.
Wåhlin wants to broaden the party
There has been a split in the environmental party where one side wants to broaden the party towards more social issues and where the other side instead wants to focus more on the climate issue. Magnus P Wåhlin belongs to those who want to broaden the party, but he also believes that he will succeed in getting votes from both sides within the party. Hear more about it in the clip.
A new mouthpiece will be chosen at the party’s congress, which will be held from 17 to 19 November.
