Manchester City beat West Ham 3–1 in the last round of the English Premier League and won their fourth consecutive championship.

Manchester City is celebrating the English Premier League championship this season as well. Arsenal still had a shot at the title before the final round, but a win over West Ham would secure the trophy for Manchester.
City probably took it like a champion. Phil Foden shot City into the lead after just over a minute of play. Before the 20 minutes were up, Foden already took City to a 2–0 lead. The situation seemed to be completely under City’s control, but West Ham’s by Mohammed Kudus a great scissor kick before the break added excitement to the game.
At just under an hour Rodri gave City a 3–1 lead and the championship began to be secured again. This was also the final result of the match.
– It is difficult to put this into words. No team has done this before. We’ve played ourselves into the history books,” Foden told Sky Sports.
Arsenal beat Everton 2–1 with a last-minute goal. That left two points behind. City collected 91 points, Arsenal 89. In the end, the goal difference of both was the same, +62. Liverpool was third in the Premier League. The fourth place in the Champions League was taken by Aston Villa.
Tottenham gets a place in the Europa League. The rest of the places in Europe depend on the result of the FA Cup final. Manchester City and Manchester United will meet in it. If City win, Chelsea will qualify for the Europa League and Newcastle will qualify for the Conference League. If United win the FA Cup, they qualify for the Europa League and Chelsea qualify for the Conference League.
Luton, Burnley and Sheffield United are relegated from the Premier League.
Fourth consecutive championship
Manchester City is built by a manager Pep Guardiola’s led by quite a dynasty. The championship is City’s fourth in a row. No one has done that before in England’s top flight history since 1888. In the last seven seasons, City has won the championship six times.
This season, the championship became a real competition, first between three teams, until Liverpool lost its grip.
Arsenal has emerged as City’s toughest challenger in the last two years. Last season, the Londoners finished second in the series, but were knocked out earlier by City. This season the championship was open until the last round.
There was a small backwater phase for Arsenal in December, which eventually turned out to be decisive. So far this year, Arsenal have won 16 matches, drawn one and lost one, but even that wasn’t enough against ruthless City. City last lost on December 6. After that, it won 19 games and drew four.
– We are all a little disappointed. We were so close. I’m proud of the team. We have changed the squad and I think you all believe in us now Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard said while addressing the fans after the game.
The head coaches who bring City and Arsenal to the competition add their own spice to the duel. Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta was previously Guardiola’s assistant coach at City.
Klopp has an emotional farewell
Coached Liverpool since 2015 Jurgen Klopp bid farewell to the club in a home match against Wolverhampton.
Liverpool won the match 2–0, but the game was a sideshow as the fans showed praise and appreciation to Klopp.
