Wizards of the Coast produces new so-called sets every year. It regularly releases about 300 new cards for the game. The cards are always dedicated to an overarching theme and even a story. One of these sets is Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate. In terms of story, the title says it all: The huge city of Baldur’s Gate is under attack and has to be rescued by well-known heroes from the DnD universe. Among them are also popular heroes from Larian’s current hit game, such as Karlach, Gale or Minthara.
The set is designed for the very popular game mode “Commander”. 4 players play in a round until only one is left and the others have been defeated. The cards in Commander Legends provide both exciting and entertaining effects that can also involve your fellow players.
Draft and set boosters
The booster boxes, also called displays, come in two varieties: draft and set boosters. Draft displays contain 24 booster packs of 20 cards each. They are intended to be drafted with friends: each player receives 3 packs. Everyone opens their first pack at the same time and takes out two cards they want to play in their deck. Then the pack is passed in turn, again everyone takes two cards and passes the pack on again. This is repeated until all cards from the first pack have been distributed. Do the same with the second and third.
