Just in the last week, the chairman of the municipal council, five more social democratic members and three substitutes in Botkyrka have become political savages. In connection with that, 40 members of the party announced that they are quitting in protest.
Originally, the conflict was about the closure of ABF’s leisure centers in the spring of 2022.
– I am the first to regret that people choose to leave the party. I hope this is a situation that can settle down and I hope these members want to come back, says Magdalena Andersson.
Andersson: Been busy
Magdalena Andersson says that she was fully occupied with “working on security issues this week” and that she therefore does not know exactly what is behind this week’s defection.
– We have 290 municipalities. I do not know exactly what is happening in all municipalities. It is the party districts that have transparency.
When asked if she intends to act in the conflict, she replies:
– It is the districts that have supervision over the workers’ municipalities. They are the ones who can support the workers’ municipality in tough situations, and they have also done that here and now.
