    The container giant Maersk, part of the Danish shipping company AP Møller-Mærsk, flags for “significant delays” in ship traffic.

    Queuing at terminals in the Mediterranean and in Asian ports is singled out as the cause in a message to Maersk’s customers.

    According to the freight company, the queuing has led to long waiting times in various ports, which has affected Maersk’s ability to meet planned delivery times.

    Swedbank is suffering from major technical problems.

    It is still unclear what caused the crash.

    Several major banks have experienced similar problems in recent days.

  • “Los Suecos” leaders are charged with drug crimes

    A 27-year-old man who has been identified as the leader of the criminal Malmö gang “Los Suecos” has now been charged with several cases of serious drug crimes.

    The accused was arrested in Dubai in early June 2020 and handed over to Denmark where he is a citizen. He has lived in Sweden his whole life.

    According to the indictment, the man has controlled the design, mixing, transportation and sale of the narcotics. In total, it is about 54 kilograms of cocaine

    – This is an extensive investigation and during the course of the investigation the man has denied any crime, but in connection with a police interrogation in August 2024 he admitted that he signed the aliases covered by the indictment. He admits to drug crime but denies gun crime, says prosecutor Lisa Åberg.

    The 27-year-old is charged with two cases of particularly serious drug smuggling, two cases of serious drug crime, one case of attempted serious drug crime, one case of particularly serious weapons crime and smuggling.

  • Billion investment against mental illness

    The government wants to strengthen work with mental health and suicide prevention.

    The budget proposes an investment of SEK 1.37 billion in 2025.

    Prioritizing mental health and suicide prevention, not least for young people, is a point in the Tidö Agreement between the governing parties and the Sweden Democrats.

    The government proposes in the budget, which will be presented in its entirety tomorrow, that the appropriations for shortening the queues for child and youth psychiatry be increased by SEK 470 million in 2025. Together with previously decided appropriations for the same year, this means that a total of one billion will be set aside for the purpose.

  • Suspected murder in Kalix – several detained

    A person was found dead outside in Kalix late on Tuesday evening. The police have now launched an investigation into the murder and several people are in custody, says Detective Inspector Per-Olov Andersson to Norrbottens-Kuriren.

    – What I can say now in regard to the ongoing preliminary investigation is that we have done things on the spot and are working on it to see what it ends up being. But we have several people detained in relation to the case.

    It was at 11 p.m. on Tuesday evening that the police were alerted that an injured person was near the hospital area in Kalix, but when they arrived together with an ambulance, the person was found to be deceased.

    The police are investigating whether the incident may be related to a burned-out car found by a country road.

  • Woman threatened and robbed

    An unknown perpetrator threatened and robbed a woman in Rotebro north of Stockholm during the morning.

    – We have started a preliminary investigation into robbery. It is unclear what she got rid of, says Helena Boström Thomas, press spokesperson for the police in the Stockholm region.

    The alarm came in after 08:00.

  • Roof fell on party boat in Berlin – many injured

    The party was in full swing when the roof suddenly collapsed on a party boat in Berlin, Germany. Nine people were injured, four of them seriously, according to information from the city’s fire department.

    It is unclear why the roof collapsed.

    Around 120 guests were on board the boat, which was anchored in the river Spree.

    Dozens of rescue workers were called to the scene, as were rescue boats when the call came in late on Tuesday. There are unconfirmed reports that a concert was held on board the ship.

  • SAS invests heavily in Copenhagen

    The airline SAS is launching 15 new routes from Copenhagen starting in the summer of 2025. It is part of consolidating the Danish airport as Northern Europe’s main hub for international air traffic, according to a press release.

    In addition to a direct route to Seattle on the American west coast, these are destinations in Europe: Krakow, Madrid, Budapest, Lyon, Valencia, Malta, Bucharest, Milan, Seville, Turku, Billund, Kristiansand, Harstad/Narvik and Bodø.

    SAS has recently undergone a reconstruction and gained new owners.

    CEO Anko van der Werff says in a comment that SAS is now a “competitive and financially strong airline” where the investment in Copenhagen will “drive economic growth” throughout Scandinavia.

  • Drone attack on Russian city

    Evacuations are underway in the Russian region of Tver, where widespread Ukrainian drone attacks are said to have caused fires and explosions, the British BBC and other media report.

    Rescue workers from the city of Toropets are in full swing locating wreckage that fell from the sky, according to the city’s governor.

    There are unconfirmed reports that a weapons depot was hit.

    Toropets is about 38 miles west of the Russian capital Moscow and 47 miles from the Ukrainian border.

  • Car overturned in field

    The emergency services were alerted to an accident on E4 outside Norrköping after a person saw a car overturned in a field.

    One must be trapped, according to the rescue service.

    The police and ambulance are also on site. One southbound lane is closed.

  • L: Make travel against the advice of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs punishable

    Parents who travel with their children to countries that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against, such as Lebanon, should be able to be punished.

    That is what the Liberals propose.

    Criminalization is a very pressing issue, according to Joar Forsell.

  • Massive kitchen coat on E4

    Eleven cars are involved in a kitchen sink on the E4 outside Gäddvik.

    The northbound lane is completely blocked. The road is being diverted.

    Police, emergency services and ambulance are on site, writes NSD.

    – We are on site and working on the case, says Elisabeth Glaas, press spokesperson at the police.

    It is unclear if anyone has been injured.

  • Parked car – was beaten

    A man in his 30s is said to have been threatened and abused with an attachment by several unknown persons when he parked his car in Östra Göinge. The car must also have been vandalized.

    The man was checked by paramedics but did not have to accompany him to hospital.

    A report of serious assault, illegal threats and damage has been established.

  • Accident on E22 in Kristianstad

    Several cars are said to have been involved in a traffic accident on E22 in Kristianstad, reports Kristianstadsbladet.

    – Three passenger cars have driven into the center barrier, it is initially stated, says a team leader at SOS to the newspaper.

    No injuries have been reported.

  • Squirrels attacked trains

    Two squirrels ran amok on a train in England on Tuesday, reports the Independent. The squirrels allegedly attacked several passengers and ran through the carriages.

    A witness to the incident says that a panic-like situation broke out. Passengers ran off the train and changed carriages.

    The staff tried for half an hour to remove them with brooms and peanuts – but without success.

    The train, which was heading for Gatwick Airport, had to be cancelled.
