In the summer of 2020, she broke the contract with Wolfsburg. Since then, a lot has happened and now Madelen Janogy has moved abroad again – this time to Italian Fiorentina.
– It has been good, very intense and a lot to take in. But it’s a very good bunch, I’ve settled in well.
Do you see the move here as a second chance?
– Both yes and no. For me, it’s more about wanting this, rather than seeing it as revenge. I want to do this.
She is looking forward to being part of Fiorentina’s venture. But also says that there are many challenges ahead.
– Partly getting into the team, I don’t know the language, it’s a different culture and a different way of playing football. It’s a lot of parts, but I think it’s just fun. It’s a challenge but I feel really ready.
“A very interesting league”
She is looking forward to playing in Italy.
– It is a very interesting league that is getting better and better, a very technical league. I am a technical player who wants to develop it even more and I really believe that I will have room for that.
She has already learned some Italian words like “ciao” and “buongiorno” but the goal is to learn the language fluently.
– Those in the team have said three months, but I think they should give me a little more time, laughs Janogy.
